Press kit

A real-time marketplace for immediate local work.

Built by two brothers — one Massachusetts engineer, one veteran contractor. The app is live in New England. We’re in our first-users phase. Below is everything a reporter needs.

Quick facts

What it is
A real-time marketplace for immediate local work. Workers mark themselves available now; nearby employers post jobs and get help within minutes.
What it’s not
A career platform. Not LinkedIn, Indeed, Upwork, or Fiverr. Rush Gigs is for same-day physical work — moving, yard work, cleaning, event setup, warehouse, general labor.
Founders
Two brothers. Milad Afdasta (Massachusetts) builds the product — twenty years in MA tech, ex-Meta. TJ Afdasta (California) owns a construction company and has personally hired hundreds of laborers for short-term gigs over fifteen years.
Origin
TJ has been hiring labor for one-day jobs since 2010. After years of watching the process break — phone tag, no-shows, workers who couldn’t signal availability fast enough — he brought the problem to his brother. Rush Gigs is the tool TJ wishes he’d had as a contractor.
Stage
Pre-traction. App is live on iOS and Android. First-users phase. No fundraising claims, no traction numbers we don’t have.
Geography
Live across New England. Most activity in Massachusetts.
Categories
Moving help, yard work, snow removal, painting, cleaning, furniture assembly, delivery, construction labor, demolition, event setup, restaurant support, warehouse help, general labor, handyman, landscaping, junk removal, retail assistance.
Distinct mechanics
Workers can toggle “available now.” Jobs auto-expire when the work is done. Hiring happens through in-app chat — no applications, no résumés.
